CORE-TT has been working with this customer since 2004 and through a process of collaboration developed its internet service to encompass the complete cycle from contract to payment for all suppliers in a complex supply chain.

Challenges:

Outcomes:

Peak season presents numerous challenges: short period in which to get an effective ROI on IT, wide range of supplier IT competence, major weather disruptions, potentially different network configuration each year based on differing demand, etc.


In the past this has made provision of effective IT solutions problematic and in this case, prior to CORE, peak season was managed with little IT support.


This lead to significant business challenges, for instance it being difficult to:


  1. •effectively administer performance pay provisions of contracts

  2. •track capacity utilization

  3. •independently track fuel costs as charged

  4. •control ad-hoc supplier overtime

  5. •accurately track expenditure against budget

  6. •use data to improve financial outcomes of next peak season


This led to months of “he said / she said” debates amongst vendor before all payment issues were resolved.
